Multi Blade Helicopters
Multi – Blade – Helicopters
Welcome to my website, This is all about anything R/C
This may sound strange, because!! - This site is called- Multiblade Helicopters, but think about it, A Helicopter has a very interesting design, because it can do things that other Aircraft cant, as we go along this will be obvious, model flight has come a long way in recent years with, for instance 2.4Ghz Technology and the use of multi prop configurations. But I want to add everything that fly’s by Radio Control because we all have different avenues that we look for in the quest to get off the ground and be in control of our Creation.
This is a type of helicopter that has 3 or more propellers or blades to create lift, (but there is no limit to how many propellers you can have) They have become VERY popular and widely used in recent years. They have been used for Filming, Universities, by the Police, and even the Military. I think the US Military is the the inventor of a Quadcopter with there invention of the Drone.
As I had never flown a R/C Aircraft before, but I have jumped out of many real Aircraft, Total 138 Free Fall from 12,000 feet +, and enjoyed every minute of it, also acquired a great deal of knowledge about how a real Aircraft / Helicopters work and fly, but the days of my madness are at an end now but My love of flight still exists in my R/C models.
I have built some Model RC Gas Powerboats as well and they don’t crash they just sink, I also made a 10th scale Formula one racing car, this I would race in a local club with some success and more than enough spills and crashes also, now I think I have gained some usable experience in model building that I would like to share on our Forum, as I moved along with the build of my new Quad, I did find out a useful bit of info myself, that is, the bigger it is, eg, distance from the Center to the Rotors, the more stable it is, also the more Rotors you have the same result but, this option makes it more expensive, and gives you a better haircut if it gets to close, more rotors more expense, less trips to the barber.
If you have NOT built a Multi copter, Multi rotor or if you prefer Quadcopter before, then the process is a gradual learning curve, as i have found out, I have had to learn a lot about, not only things like Electric Speed Controllers and how to tune them, but tuning the main board also, I have enjoyed the experience very much, it is easy really just takes some working out if you buy them from Hobby King as I did, the instructions are in translated Chinese and not the best and it looks like a load of old English to me.
This is a video of me with my first, guess you would call it a home built Quad, with parts from HobbyKing: You are allowed to laugh and post comments- We all start some where in this hobby and get better as we progress- Your laugh is on me..but really never give up on your hobby–go on have a giggle!!
First Successful Flight
Rotor or blade balance is something that I have noticed a lot of people saying is most important, but I don’t think so because there are more important things to consider like the motor balance with ESC’s for instance to mention one, but as I said before tick each box as you come to it and all should work out fine. trying to express, try, crash, rebuild, have fun, never get tired , just keep trying–!!!! That is my motto !!!!
Actually flying a Quadcopter is a new experience from piloting any other Aircraft like a Helicopter or Plane because of Orientation! what I am trying to say here is that when in the air, at a distance or even at height you can lose the perspective of what is the front or the rear then Ahhh!! panic sets in and you try to bring it back then it shoots of into the next field at a high rate of knots. *
* This problem I have a solution for, as I am NOW a Mobile Crane Operator and I gave this much thought as I use stick control much the same as flying a Quadcopter my thinking is simple, if you use memory of your last movement like turning or anything else then you can to a certain degree return somewhere close to the start of that movement.
This like anything needs practice, so to start off – fly low and slow and at a safe distance so you can get the skill and it will not take very long, it is not a perfect solution but at least it will give you a chance, the other way is to use some diode light strips of different color’s I have placed red at the rear and white at the front because then you cant forget as we have them on our cars all over the world like this.
One other very important thing to make sure of is that, All the soldering joints must be very good as the Lipo battery’s kick out a great deal of power! this taken into account the ESC’s must be able to handle the amps also, but this is something we need to discuss on the forum in detail if you need help with this part.
I will put some videos on the Forum to show my building and repairs as I crash along the way to help everybody.
I am at the moment going to build an AXN Clouds Fly Floater Jet RC plane, AXN for short, This I think will be a great starter for me when I get totally confused with the different flying technique, and crash this as well hmm, we shall see.
Well it is here now and I have finished building the AXN and love the design it looks the part. This is what I am about, getting into the air and having a great time.
!!!!!!!
DON’T FORGET TO SAY HI ON THE FORUM
!!!!!!!!
!We cant help each other if we don’t chat on our Forum!

You have really helped a lot on quads building, really looking forward your help on rc helicopters, again thank you for you help and info.now realize need a solder iron- dooh
Thank you very much, I will do my very best, A soldering iron is a must really. Try this link
I have just got myself a gas Soldering Iron and it is great, best thing I have invested in.
Hi Bernie,
Mate, thankyou so much for the vid posted on Youtube regarding S107G Helicopter Problems.
Thanks to your help, I have been able to repair the Inner Shaft Head on my wifes 107, (which I broke….woops),and also find out why the battery has died so quick.(I wasn’t letting it cool down….woops..again)
I must say you make repairs look easy, but despite my shakey hands and bad eyes I eventualy got there, cheers mate.
I’ll keep an eye on the wbsite.
Glenn.
Hi Glenn, your welcome, great to here I helped you out, that is what I like to do.
Bernie.
I love the s32g with the 2.4g it is awesome controls great no signal loss ect. So I just got the S33g hoping for the same great things, but I am having a problem with it cutting out????? That should not be happening right. and the power seems to be terrible. does anyone have any suggestions on what is wrong so I can get this big boy flying like the champ it should be????????
It sounds like a wire has a bad connection, check the battery wires are not frayed.
michaelrhatch,
Did you get any luck ??
